bergthal event centre

Located in the beautiful Central Alberta countryside and just 45 minutes outside of Calgary, Alberta, it is our hope that you find inspiration in the beauty and peace that Bergthal has to offer.

Bergthal has a rich history dating back to 1901 when Mennonites from Ontario and Manitoba moved to the area. The rural Mennonites were a unique group, rooted in their faith with distinguishing elements of music, pacifism, and community. They found a home at Bergthal and continued to grow and thrive for the following century.

The building itself has gone through several transformations and additions. The original building was moved down the road, settling in its current location in 1948. Additions of the lounge area, library, kitchen and banquet hall were all significant points of growth to accommodate the expanding community.

Bergthal's most recent renovations created a space that is used by many, serving central Alberta as an event venue open to hosting all types of gatherings. While the church is still home to its congregation who meet every Sunday morning, it is their hope that many more will be able to gather at Bergthal to celebrate life's special moments.
